About

IMG_9698Aloha,

My name is Jacqueline Bensaid, my friends call me Jacque (Jackie) but others may just recognize my Insta handle @gypseaprincess. I’m 22 and was born and raised in a small town in Southern California called Norco, otherwise known as “Horsetown USA”, but have lived in Honolulu, Hawaii since 2014.

I hava a Bachelors Degree from The University of Hawaii at Mānoa Academy for Creative Media, with a focus on documentary production and cinematography. I would love to use these skills to continue making documentaries on subjects that I am personally interested in such as; yoga, women empowerment, holistic healing, vegan living, ayurveda, wellness, psychoactive plants and plant therapy, and much more. I believe that video is one of the most powerful ways to communicate information and spread ideas, so I want to use these tools to help educate people on eco and health conscious lifestyle choices.

I also received my RYT200 in Bali, Indonesia in 2017 from The School yoga Institute. My training was in traditional hatha, vinyasa, and shamanic practices. You can read more about the full experience in this blog post. I now teach classes throughout Oahu along with coordinate and lead Retreats in Hawaii and Bali. I have been practicing yoga for about 4 years, and have a background in gymnastics and coaching. I originally got into yoga when I came to Hawaii for college, but my junior year my mom got sick with West Nile Virus, which a few months later took her life. I still completed college (that’s definitely what she would have wanted), and during this time I found strength through my asana and pranayama. I knew I had to deepen my knowledge, and share the practice with others; I began teaching 5 days a week in Hawaii within a month of graduating from my RYT200.

Throughout the battles in the past few years, I have developed a strong urge to be outdoors, travel, adventure, learn; and create a space for others to as well. I truly believe in the benefits of making the shift to a more holistic lifestyle, so I decided to design an opportunity for others to experience some of the lifestyle changes that I have made that have helped me grow physically, mentally and spiritually despite the trauma I had experiences. If you want to shift you mindset and begin your journey down a path of positive living and holistic wellness, check out my all inclusive retreat options here.

May all of my future adventures be in memory of my mother, Lisa Kay <3
