MEET YOUR HOST:
Jacqueline is a Vinyasa flow yoga instructor based in Haleiwa, Hawaii. She received her YTT 200 from The School Yoga Institute for Shamanic Practices and traditional Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, in Bali Indonesia, May 2017. She has been teaching yoga ever since, and incorporates Hatha, Ashtanga, and Kundalini yoga in her classes.
Jacqueline was a former gymnast and gymnastics coach, and is great with alignment instruction, and physical adjustments. Jacques classes are not only influenced by the physical practices of yoga, but she is deeply passionate about teaching the mental benefits of yoga for depression, anxiety, and overall mental health. These experiences are what originally led her to her own daily practice, and eagerness to share yoga and travel with others who are undergoing their own healing process.
WHY ART, YOGA AND ADVENTURE IS IMPORTANT TO US:
In today’s world, we are often brought up by uniformity with lack of encouraged individuality, just to have our success valued upon our achievements and monetary measures; We decided to be rebels instead. We said “No” to the status quo and the structure society had set up for us.
Instead, we choose to run barefoot through the jungle so we can feel the mush between our toes. We frolic nude along empty beaches where our bodies were not sexual objects, but instead a vessel for the soul. Stay up until dawn watching the past shatter little glistening lights across the sky, and spend slow mornings listening to the songs of the birds, while sipping herbal tea, and splattering colors of paint across a canvas.
We were raised by structure, but still, we choose freedom; The freedom to express, to create, to love, and be loved — unconditionally.
Art + Yoga has been for us, a form of navigation through this life; Showing us how to think less, and feel more. Whether it’s an ever-changing vinyasa flow bringing you in touch with your current physical self, or pounding flowers into cloth to creatively release emotional tension, we have never felt more in harmony with our souls and nature as we have while including art + yoga into our daily lives. This all inclusive retreat includes a collective of our most therapeutic art + yoga experiences to reignite your most creative, and free self.
